There can never be external peace unless we our self achieve internal peace. Our personal anger and other negativity are like a virus that can be easily transmitted to others. For example, if we become angry with someone it is almost certain they will become angry with us, as a reaction to our hostility. Therefore, we can help improve our world by improving our own mind. Prayers for World Peace are followed by a teaching and meditation. Through practicing meditation and learning new ways of dealing with difficult situations we can experience real improvement in our world.
